As most of you know, I have been diligently working on earning my Masters Degree in Library Science from Sam Houston State University for a little over a year now.  This summer, I took a class entitled "Internet for School Librarians."  For one of my assignments I was required to complete a rather extensive tutorial on the basics of the internet.  I thought I knew a lot before going into it, but I'm happy to say I learned a great deal through the tutorial experience.  In order to prove that I'd assimilated the information in the assignment, I was required to come up with a creative response, which meant something other than a chapter by chapter synopsis or summary.  I decided to create a tutorial of my own, for those of you who wish to use it.

What I've done is I've composed some web pages for you, that summarize my experience with the tutorial and what I learned.  I hope they will be of use to you.  To get to the different lessons, simply click on the links at the bottom of this page.

If you would like to view the tutorial I used, in its entirety, on your own, I have obtained permission for you to do so by clicking on the following link: http://www.sc.edu/beaufort/library/pages/bones/bones.shtml  I encourage you to complete the tutorial--as I said earlier, I learned a lot more than I thought I would--and I also learned that there's so much more out there to learn!  There is more on the actual tutorial website than I will be sharing with you in these pages. There is a Graveyard for Dead Search Engines, which lists search engines which are no longer in operation, or that have been bought out by other search engines. There is also a page entitled Beyond Bare Bones that I encourage you to go check out.  It lists other recommended tutorials and information sites.
